Our Ministry…

Ministry of Helps is a ministry dedicated to providing “Temporary Help for His Eternal Church”! Our purpose is to be a blessing to local Baptist churches. Our ministry specializes in filling in for Pastor’s going on vacation, out sick, or just need someone to fill the pulpit in their absence. We are also available for revivals, special days, chapels, etc.

Since 2003, the Lord has allowed me to serve in this capacity while still maintaining my responsibilities as youth director at Northside Baptist Church, Bassett, VA. Just recently, the Lord spoke to my heart concerning devoting my focus to this type of ministry. I ask that you would partner with us in prayer over this endeavor.

Our History…

I met my future wife, LeAnna Salyers, in October of 2000. We dated for several months before my wife’s parents started attending Northside Baptist in Bassett, VA. My wife’s parents were impressed with the kindness showed to my wife’s Grandfather. As a result of these events my wife started attending the church. This would occasionally involve me attending with her. On one such Sunday morning through the faithful preaching of the Word of God by Pastor Ron Peal, LeAnna accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior. Pastor Peal’s message that morning was on the subject of Hell. That particular Sunday I didn’t attend church with LeAnna. Looking back I believe it was the Lord’s will. For if I had gone I might in some way hindered LeAnna from getting saved that Sunday morning. Upon hearing the news of my wife’s salvation, I became somewhat concerned with my own personal relationship with God. For several months, I had been under conviction. I had been hearing the preaching of Pastor Peal; also I had a friend at work witnessing to me. Although, I had said a sinner’s prayer at the age of 8 years old, deep down I didn’t have the peace of God which passes all understanding. A short time afterward, I bowed my head and asked the Lord to forgive my sin and saved me.

LeAnna and I were married on August 17, 2002. On September 15, 2002 my wife and I joined Northside Baptist Church. The same day I announced my call to preach the Gospel!

I attended Temple Bible Institute in Martinsville, VA before transferring to Cornerstone Bible College. It was here that I received my Graduate of Theology (Th.G.) in 2006; Bachelor of Theology (Th.B) in 2007; and most recently my Master of Theology (Th.M.) degree (2010). LeAnna graduated in 2007 with a Certificate in Biblical Education and an Associate of Theology in 2010. I'm currently pursing a Doctorate in Theology and one in Religious Education.

On May 4, 2005 the Lord bless us with our beautiful daughter, Kaylee Michelle.

Our Present...          

As of June 1, 2010 we accepted the position of Assistant Pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Bassett, VA.
